Connecting to AOL through JOBE

The following setup instructions explain
how to configure your existing AOL account
for use with Jobe

Information you'll need:
• Your Jobe username and password
• The correct access number for your area


1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop



2. Double-click the icon labeled Dial-Up Networking



3. Now double-click the Make New Connection icon



4. Type Jobe in the text box, and make sure you modem is selected under Select a device. Click Next



5. Type in the the correct access number, and then click Next



6. Click Finish



7. Right-click on the Icon labeled Jobe, and select Properties



8. Uncheck Use area code and Dialing Properties



9. Click the Server Types tab and uncheck Log on to network, NetBUEI, and IPX/SPX Compatible. Now click the TCP/IP Settings button



10. Click Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server addresses. Click OK



11. Click on the Start menu, move your pointer over Settings, and click Control Panel



12. Double-click the icon labeled Network



13. Click once on TCP/IP and then press Properties



14. Click the WINS Configuration tab, and select Disable WINS Resolution



15. Now click the DNS Configuration tab and select Disable DNS. Click OK



16. Click OK once more. You should now see the screen pictured below. Choose Yes (make sure you've saved any open documents before you do). Your computer will restart.
